Welcome to the Mt. Zion School District website.

The Mt. Zion School community is proud to have the distinction of providing educational experiences that develop every child into becoming a lifelong learner and contributing member of society.  We recognize that, for this next generation of young people, the world will be a constantly changing and dynamic place to live.  Therefore, our approach towards education mirrors a progressive society.  Our academic programs, performing arts, athletics and many other opportunities encourage students to spread their wings and experience the world around them.

The Illinois State Board of Education has recognized the progress in Mt. Zion Schools for many years and showered our Prek-8th grade schools with awards such as the Bright A+ Award, School Search Bright Star Award and the Academic Excellence Award.  The High School, not to be out done, has repeatedly been recognized as one of the top High Schools in Illinois.  In our School District every child, regardless of school building, grade level or classroom, receives the highest quality education.  These high standards that confront our student’s day in and day out do not come without many challenges.  However, the students’ accomplishments reflect their hard work and dedication; as well as that of our teachers, staff, parents and volunteers.  The Mt. Zion School District #3 understands the ability to meet the challenges of tomorrow relies not on the accomplishments of yesterday, but on the work ethic of today.
